With generated income from membership, R50 780 has been allocated to the wall between Buffa Str and Sinovich Str which will be plastered and painted. After considering several quotes, we have chosen Servest for their competitive price point that won’t break the bank, but importantly without sacrificing on quality of service! They start work today, Monday 8th of August with an estimated completion date of 3 weeks for plastering and 2 weeks for painting. A further R146 000 of capital funds is allocated toward building of the Northern wall.
Maintenance has now been taken over by a volunteer who is currently directing Teacher and Trust on various jobs. In this short time, they have managed to clean up several pavements on Watson, Lara, Charles, Natalie, Craig and Pam street, as well as clear unwanted grass that hinders motorist from seeing oncoming traffic – all while cutting off Black Wattle branches! These tasks will continue as far as possible.
The RVOA allocated funding of R70 000 on 29 June for camera system upgrades. Lizelle van Rooyen had been heading up this project with the CPF where they identified hotspot locations for the cameras.
These hotspots are:
- Pam / Buffa
- Lara / Sinovich
- Lara - in front of quarry
- Eastern corner of Watson
- Western corner of Charles Str
- Aldo /Luce
Unfortunately they seem to be experiencing technical issues with the cameras and are working on a solution with the Wireless Company.
Going forward RVOA will ensure there is a minimum of a quarterly update sent to the community, unless there is relevant information that will be shared in a timely manor. We will continue to
maintain the estate as best as possible with the current contributions and budget at our disposal.
