1 Firstly, we’d like to thank Busisiwe, owner of the quarry, for her co- operation in getting the area cleaned. It looks so much better already!
2 Workings on the water pipeline is currently still at Delmas Rd and did not reach Sinovich yet.
3 Current projects:
– Building of the boundary wall is going well with 300 meters built already and foundation laid for 82 meters. We had some setbacks like people stealing our bricks, but everything is looking good at this stage and work getting done as funds come in. Once this wall is done it should provide our community with much needed security from, among others, the informal settlement of Bus Stop 7.
– Our maintenance team has cleaned Anthony, Aldo, Vincent and Mary and will now continue with Paul, Buffa and Watson.
– We are also continuing to fix the potholes in Buffa.
– The street names that were spelt incorrect on the street name boards have finally been corrected.
4 Unfortunately, we had some break-ins in RVV and GF the past month. Herewith some points to keep in mind when it comes to security:
– Remove any bottles, rocks, plastic etc that is packed in front of your house that shouldn’t be there.
– Be vigilant for any ‘strange” vehicles standing or driving around and take their number plates.
– Be vigilant of any vehicle that may be following you home. Instead of stopping at home, rather drive around and if they still follow, drive to the closest Police Station.
– Ensure that your property is not overgrown so people can hide in long grass or bushes.
– Activate motion detection on your alarm system.
– Carry a panic button wherever you go.
– Test your alarms and panic buttons regularly to ensure they work.
– Keep emergency numbers on speed dial.
– Try to do background checks and get copies of ID’s for everyone that comes in to work for you.
– Check your walls and fences regularly for any breaches and ensure electric fences are working.
– Always expect the unexpected and be prepared for it!
5 I am going to make “stickers” for everyone staying in the estate, to put in their vehicles or keep with them. These “stickers” will only identify you as a RVV resident, so I don’t stop you to ask what you do here. The stickers can just be put loosely on your dashboard, nothing will be stuck on your vehicle.
6 I request that you also provide your workers with these flyers, as well as any temporary workers you may be having on your property. Further communication hereon will follow.
